Meet the Founder
Derek Downes
Founder and CEO
Derek A. Downes is a seasoned Banker for over 35 years. Mr. Downes was the Country Head of FirstCaribbean International Bank St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius from 2006-2009. For the past 14 years, he has led the largest bank on St. Maarten, The Windward Islands Bank as its Deputy Managing Director and its General Managing Director for 10 years from July 1, 2013 to September 30, 2023. He has also been the President of the St. Maarten Bankers Association for 10 years. Mr. Downes has vast experience in banking and general business matters.
